Year 13 celebrate their last day in style

On Friday 19th May, we said goodbye to our year 13 students. Students celebrated their time at The Weald by enjoying a fun afternoon on the field. They started off their day with an emotional leaving assembly where they had the chance to reminisce about their experiences and fond memories of the school and sixth form.

Students and staff dressed up in imaginative fancy dress costumes to celebrate, some including 80s disco outfits, Mexicans and Greek gods. The afternoon included an inflatable assault course, a gladiator ring and ice creams. The weather didn’t dampen their spirits; students were extremely enthusiastic throughout the afternoon and got stuck in. Both staff and students felt emotional but happy by the end of the day.

Mr Backshall, Head of Sixth Form, said “We had a fantastic day with our leaving year 13 students and it was a day full of memories and laughter. The annual tradition of students (and staff) dressing up was upheld with some absolutely brilliant costumes. Despite the unreliable weather, we had great fun on the inflatables. We now wish all our year 13 students the very best in their exams.”

We wish all students the best of luck in all they decide to do in the future.
