Exam Results and Ofsted Report
Weald School Examination Results - 2018
The school has done well in recent years and has achieved record results. In our October 2013 Ofsted inspection, we were delighted that the school was judged to be “Outstanding” in all categories.
In 2018 we achieved one of our best GCSE performances as a school, with 74% of students achieving both English and maths GCSEs at a 4 or above. Students’ performance on the new Progress 8 scale, which measures progress from KS2 to KS4, has been very strong in recent years with a rolling three year average of +0.50 grades. This means that students made on average +0.50 of a grade more progress in each GCSE than students in the rest of the UK. This puts us in the top 10% of schools nationally for progress. In 2018, Weald students also achieved another excellent set of A Level results: 81% of grades were at A*-C and 55% at A*-B. 11% of students achieved grades at A*, nearly twice the national average. Results across the ability range were again very good. 100% of our students who applied to University gained places.
In 2017 The Weald also achieved another excellent set of A Level results: 88% of grades were at A*-C and 65% were at A*-B. 14% of students achieved grades at A*, nearly twice the national average. Results across the ability range were again very good with our average grade per entry remaining high. All students who applied to University were accepted onto their choice of course. These results placed The Weald as one of the highest performing non-selective Sixth Forms in West Sussex.
