The Weald is an outstanding, high achieving, popular and oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school, situated in the heart of the West Sussex countryside, 10 minutes from Horsham, 35 minutes from Guildford and Brighton, and an hour by train to London. The school has an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement and we pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every child is important. Working as part of our Pastoral Team, an important part of the role will be to monitor attendance across the school daily, identify barriers to attending and work with the students and their families to develop a positive ethos and improve attendance at school. We can offer you the chance to work in a supportive, fast moving and exciting school community where the role will be challenging, varied and rewarding.
The successful candidate will:

- have an understanding of school systems and issues affecting non-school attendance
- be ICT literate, having good experience using MIS systems, and the ability to analyse data to identify trends and areas of concern
- have the skills to promote positive links between home and school, engaging with hard to reach families and working with school staff and other agencies to address family needs that impact on students’ attendance and progress at school.
