Students engage with contemporary texts and issues that inform their viewpoint on the world. (Community)
- Students become independent and critical thinkers.
- Students develop knowledge about a broad range of engaging and relevant media texts.
- Students are able to bring in their own knowledge of the media from personal experience into lessons. Sometimes, they are given choice about texts / projects.
Students develop media skills that prepare them for their exams and future academic careers. (Opportunity)
- Students become critical thinkers with skills that crossover to other subject areas.
- Students can write and structure in a thoughtful way that will crossover with other subject areas.
- GCSE students are appropriately prepared for A Level, and A Level for Degree.
Students are prepared to work in the world of media. (Opportunity and Community)
- Students develop real-life skills and relevant knowledge. Teachers relate topics to the working world and develop tasks providing real world experiences.
- Students are given opportunities to learn about the working world from outside speakers, work experience contacts and careers advice.
- Students can develop further skills through working with Weald TV and Radio Weald.
