Year 7 - September 2019

Year 7 students starting September 2019

Applications for students starting  Year 7 in September 2019 must be made directly with West Sussex County Council Admissions North. Information on the process can be viewed on the following link :

https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/education-children-and-families/schools-and-colleges/school-places/secondary-school-places/ or by contacting West Sussex County Council Admissions North on 03330 142903 or email on [email protected]

Please note that it is the responsibility of parents to do this directly and you will not be prompted by West Sussex County Council.

For all prospective Year 7 students hoping to join us in September 2019 here are some important dates :

  • Friday 1st March 2019 – West Sussex County Council  Offer day

  • Tuesday 25th June 2019 – Year 6 Welcome day at The Weald

  • Wednesday 26th June 2019 – Year 6 Welcome Evening at The Weald

West Sussex County Council will advise parents directly if they have been offered a place at The Weald. They will communicate this over a 24 hour period on Friday 1st  March by email, if supplied, or by letter.

The Weald School will send out ‘Welcome Packs’ during the week beginning 11th March. This will include a number of consent forms. The date for these to be returned by will be confirmed at this point.

If you have not been offered a place with us at this stage but would like a place at The Weald there is still a really good chance of this. Every year we take about 30 students from our waiting list after the initial allocation of places. This is due to students taking places in Independent schools or moving area. Almost all our catchment students who wanted a place with us are likely to get one so the places from the waiting list that are offered from that point on are likely to go to families outside of our catchment area. Every year we take between 30-60 students from outside of our catchment area. For more information and to be kept up to date with any developments in this process, please contact the school.
