The Weald Sixth Form is a fantastic place to begin your journey into higher education. It gives the perfect balance between fun activities to get involved in and an incredible standard of teaching to set you up for life. Regardless of which course you intend to study you can be sure of an experience that will leave you informed and enthused. The school offers a number of traditional and vocational subjects at AS, A2 and at BTEC Advanced and First levels.
There are unique opportunities available here you won’t find anywhere else, in a friendly and welcoming environment. Popular events and clubs include the Culture Club where we arrange various trips to West End theatres, film nights and quizzes. Our Charities Committee is a central contributor to the Sixth Form’s atmosphere, supporting a variety of international, national and local charities, including raising money for the sc
hool’s Africa Project. For those of you with a sporting mind there is a wide range of games including great rugby 1st and 2nd XVs, successful U19 football squads that have made 3 county finals in the last 5 years, an in-school five-a-side football competition, and many more sports like hockey and table tennis. The opportunity to become involved in life changing experiences like working with Amnesty International, international conferences, and the school’s mentoring programme, trips to galleries and other foreign exchanges. Not only do these programmes provide an exceptional basis for UCAS applications and CVs but they also help you to acquire the useful skills for life.
The Weald provides excellent facilities for all its Sixth Form students. Great IT services are available across the school, as well as in an exclusive Sixth Form Computer Suite and also in the fully-stocked Library; this provides the perfect environment for private study. e. Our Conference Room is used for Senior Prefect Meetings, conferences and School Council meetings as well as providing additional space for individual study. Our own canteen serves food of a high standard which is regularly reviewed by the students.
