Student Welfare

Sussex police launched a new initiative, which rolled out in April 2018. Operation Encompass aims to support children who are exposed to domestic violence.  If the police are called to an incident of domestic abuse and a child is present or normally resides at that address, they will notify the school of the incident.  The aim of this is to support students in school if they have been exposed to violence at home.

As with any information that is currently shared between the police, other agencies and ourselves, we will respect the confidentiality of the information and only share it with staff on a need-to-know basis.  We support this initiative as it will help us to support students in school as required.
