The Rotary Youth Speaks Local finals were held on 8th February 2014 and this year hosted by the Weald School.
The LRC was a highly competitive arena as 30 Students from all year groups took part in the Delancey UK schools Chess tournament.
A fiercely competitive and competent field of young public speakers made the job of the judges of the Rotary Club “Youth Speaks” competition held at The Weald School on Tuesday 14 January incredibly taxing.
Tuesday 14th January saw the final of the preliminary round of the RIBI Young Chef Competition at The Weald School.
Congratulations to the Elgar students and staff who raised over £2,000 for Chestnut Tree House Hospice in December.
The Art project has come to its completion and the Year 9 Art enrichment students who were involved produced some excellent work, some of which is now on display in the LRC.
On Friday 29th November a group of students and staff, visited CERN in Switzerland. The visit was part of the group’s recent A Level studies in Particle Physics and the team were given the opportunity to tour part of the scientific complex and see the science behind how the experiments work.
On enrichment day the Art department took a number of trips out to various galleries and museums.
Congratulations to all the pupils, staff and governors at the Weald School. The Ofsted report from our recent inspection was released on Monday 11th November. The Weald was graded outstanding in all areas and as outstanding overall.
The Weald’s Year 9, 10 and 1st XV rugby teams have all made excellent starts to their seasons.
Weald students performed superbly on Sunday 13th October in the Green Power Car National Finals at Goodwood Race Circuit.
