Teacher of Humanities

Early Careers Teachers
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, talented, committed and inspiring Teacher of Humanities (either Geography, History or Religious Studies) to join our school, on a full time or part time, permanent basis. This position is ideal for Early Careers Teachers looking to gain experience in a high achieving school with a great ECT programme.
The Weald is a high achieving, popular and oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school and sixth form college, situated in the heart of the West Sussex countryside, 10 minutes from Horsham, 35 minutes from Guildford and Brighton, and an hour by train to London. The school has an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement and we pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every child is important. Last summer, our A-level results placed us as the best 6th form provider in West Sussex; at GCSE our students achieved almost half a grade higher than their expected outcomes.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hard-working teacher who meets the criteria below:
- A well-qualified (with Qualified Teacher Status) and enthusiastic teacher of Religious Studies, Geography or History who can inspire and engage young people
- The ability to motivate pupils and achieve excellent results
- Excellent organisational and IT skills
- The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team
- A passion for their subject and the ability to share this with young people
- The ability to teach a second subject would be an advantage
- A commitment to extracurricular activities
- A passion for excellence and for the subject
- A willingness to be a form tutor, including the delivery of RSHE
