  • GCSE Results

    Students at The Weald School were celebrating another excellent set of GCSE results at the Billingshurst School last Thursday. Headteacher Peter Woodman commented, “There was huge excitement, joy and some tears of relief as students opened envelopes to receive their GCSE results. Students have produced another bumper set of grades which exceed our best previous best performance as a school with 74% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades or better including English and maths.

  • A Level Results

    The Weald School was alive with the sounds of laughter and tears of joy as students received their A level results this morning. The school was celebrating another bumper set of results with 88% of grades at A*-C and 65% A*-B and 39% at A* and A. 14% of students achieved grades at A*, nearly twice the national average.

  • Gold Awards Ceremony

    ‘You really can achieve whatever you want in this life, the secret is to believe in yourself’ was Huw Jones take home message to Weald School students attending the school’s annual prize giving evening, The Gold Awards.

    Around 700 students, proud parents and esteemed guests from the community all gathered to celebrate another outstanding year.  Students at The Weald excel in a wide range of skills throughout the year and this annual event recognises exceptional successes for effort, progress, and wider contribution to the school.

  • Year 13 Graduation Dinner

    This year our Year 13 Graduation Dinner was held at the Hilton Avisford Park Hotel, on Friday 1st July. With over 120 students and 30 staff in attendance, our community feel was tangible. It was a night to remember! Students arrived in style and looked stunning in their glamorous outfits and were excited about taking the opportunity to celebrate the hard work over the past year.

  • Year 11 Prom

    Year 11 students marked another successful year by celebrating at their annual Leavers Prom on Friday 1 July by cruising down the River Thames. Students looked amazing in their finery as they arrived in a variety of vehicles ranging from limousines and camper vans. They then embarked upon the coaches for the journey up to London passing the many historical sites before being dropped off at Westminster Pier.

  • Sponsored Walk

    On Wednesday 22nd June we held our annual sponsored walk.  This event has been running for many years now and, as with previous years, the school walked in support of our school charity Classrooms for Kenya.  We are hoping that the walk will raise enough money to pay for four more classrooms for our partner schools in Kitale, Kenya.  Many of these schools are in desperate need for new facilities as the Kenyan government only pays for teachers' salaries and not the construction of classrooms.  As such, schools rely on parental contributions to fund the construction of new classrooms.  In poorer areas of the country these funds are very scarce and this is where Classrooms for Kenya and events like the Sponsored Walk come in.

  • Summer Art Exhibition

    Well done to our extremely talented GCSE and A-Level students for their hard work in producing such brilliant art work in our annual Summer Art Exhibition. On Thursday 23 June, students work was on show to the public and everyone was very impressed with the quality of work. Students should be very proud to have produced such a fantastic display!

  • Day of the African Child Fundraiser

    On Friday 17th of June, Weald students held a hat day to raise awareness for the Day of the African Child. Students from Year 7 – 10 were given the opportunity to donate £1 each and wear a hat to school.  This has very much been a student led fundraiser and all funds go towards Uganda Hands for Hope, which provides free education, food and clothing to the most vulnerable primary school children in the Kampala slums.  At The Weald, we work very closely with them, and we currently sponsor a child to go to school, based upon our last fundraising effort.

  • The Virtual Baby Project

    The Virtual Baby project for Year 9s is a programme for sex and relationships. This year we gave nine students the opportunity to learn from the experience of what it means to become a parent. The programme is designed to inform young people about the realities of parenting and involves caring for a virtual baby over 3 days.

  • Investors in Careers Award

    We are thrilled to be celebrating again, having successfully gained the Investors in Careers Status for the sixth time running. This Award has been held by the school since 1999 and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students and staff at The Weald.

  • Weald Book Awards 2016

    The Weald Book Award celebrated its 8th year on Tuesday 1st March. Run by The Weald School it brings together a number of our current Year 7 pupils and Year 6 students from most of our feeder Primary Schools.
