Sponsored Walk
On Wednesday 22nd June we held our annual sponsored walk. This event has been running for many years now and, as with previous years, the school walked in support of our school charity Classrooms for Kenya. We are hoping that the walk will raise enough money to pay for four more classrooms for our partner schools in Kitale, Kenya. Many of these schools are in desperate need for new facilities as the Kenyan government only pays for teachers' salaries and not the construction of classrooms. As such, schools rely on parental contributions to fund the construction of new classrooms. In poorer areas of the country these funds are very scarce and this is where Classrooms for Kenya and events like the Sponsored Walk come in.

The Weald School and the walk organisers would like to say thank you to the students of The Weald and to their parents for their ongoing support of this activity. Over the years our Classrooms for Kenya appeal has raised around £300,000 and this represents a huge contribution to the welfare of students in Kenya.
