Year 10 Art students visit the Tate Modern
On enrichment day the Art department took a number of trips out to various galleries and museums.
The Year 10 Art students were lucky enough to visit the Tate Modern and see the current Paul Klee exhibition that is showing .
It was really interesting for students to learn about his background which in turn influenced his art. Many of his pieces on display were much smaller than expected and the detail and painting techniques that he employed were amazing to see .
The gallery has an extensive range of modern art on display and it was a great opportunity for students to see works by artists that they had only read about in books or on the internet such as Picasso , Salvador Dali and Jackson Pollock.
It was a great day and the students were able to see art in context which is an invaluable experience.
