The guest speaker Huw Jones added a motivational and energetic address which echoed the school’s ethos of positive commitment and engagement. It was clear that Huw made a difference to all in the room. A large number of students left inspired, not only by their magnificent achievements, but by Huw’s infectious ‘can-do, believe in yourself’ attitude.

Huw Jones is the founder and Executive Director of the telemedicine company, The Virtual Doctors, based in Shoreham. The Virtual Doctors combines medicine and technology to create sophisticated, easy to use technology that allows rural health workers in Africa to communicate with doctors anywhere in the world for diagnosis and treatment advice, helping to save lives. Huw explained this in his speech to Weald students saying, ‘a community that has never ever had access to a book before, almost overnight has access to the entire world. How powerful is that?’
