3 Peaks 3 Classrooms
Seven members of staff tackled the three mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours, in aid of Classrooms for Kenya. Mr Charles, Mrs Glanville, Ms Hempenstall, Ms Martin, Mr Sladden, Ms McKenna and Mr Robinson all challenged themselves to complete it over the Easter weekend recently.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of the British Isles. The total walking distance is 37km and the total ascent is 3064 metres. The team managed to complete the challenge in 27 hours and 40 minutes.
In July 2019 a team of staff and students from The Weald will be heading to Kitale in Western Kenya in order to support education by building new classroom buildings for impoverished schools.
This year we aim to build six new classrooms in three different schools, in partnership with our school charity Classrooms for Kenya. We need to raise an ambitious £36,000 to pay for the construction of these classrooms, and staff and students from The Weald aim to achieve this by July.
