Teacher of Food Preparation and Nutrition

Full time, permanent post from September 2026
Teachers’ Main Pay Range / Upper Pay Range + potential TLR 2a

The Weald is a high achieving, popular and oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school and sixth form college, situated in the heart of the West Sussex countryside, 10 minutes from Horsham, 35 minutes from Guildford and Brighton, and an hour by train to London.  The school has an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement, and we pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every child is important. Last summer, our A-level results placed us as one of the best 6th form providers in West Sussex; at GCSE our students achieved almost half a grade higher than their expected outcomes.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, talented and committed teacher of Food, Preparation and Nutrition from September 2026, on a full-time, permanent basis.  The successful candidate will meet the criteria below:

  • A well-qualified (with Qualified Teacher Status) and enthusiastic teacher of Food and Nutrition who can inspire and engage young people
  • A passion for the subject, and the ability to teach Food, Preparation and Nutrition at KS3 and KS4
  • The ability to teach in other areas of the Design & Technology curriculum at KS3 is required
  • The ability to motivate students and achieve excellent results
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills
  • The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A passion for excellence and to share this with young people
  • A willingness to be a form tutor, including the delivery of PSHE

For the right candidate, there is also the potential to take on the KS3 coordinator role within the department. This will be paid on a TLR2a.
