Exam Results and Ofsted Report
Examination Results 2021
The school has done well in recent years and has achieved record results. In our October 2013 Ofsted inspection, we were delighted that the school was judged to be “Outstanding” in all categories.
In 2021, student performance at Key Stage 4 was again strong, with 77% of students achieving both English and Maths at grade 4 or above, with 57% of students achieving English and Maths GCSEs at grade 5 or above. We were particularly delighted at students’ performance on the Progress 8 scale which measures progress from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4. In 2021, The Weald achieved a Progress 8 score of +0.71 GCSE grades. This means that students made, on average, +0.71 of a grade more progress in each of their key Stage 4 subjects than students in the rest of the UK. This puts us in the top 20% of schools nationally. Our Attainment 8 score is also above the national average, at 52.11, with 44% of students achieving the English baccalaureate (the combination of English, Maths, Science, a Humanities subject, and a Modern Foreign Language). The average point scores across these subjects were as follows:
- English 5.17
- Maths 5.24
- Science 4.99
- MFL 2.68
- Humanities 4.14
In 2021 The Weald achieved an excellent set of A Level results. 79% were at A*-C, 60% were at A*-B and 44% were at A*-A. Results across the ability range were very strong, and we achieved a 100% pass rate. All students who applied to University were able to secure a place. These results maintain our place as one of the highest performing non-selective Sixth Forms in West Sussex.
The government has announced that it will not publish any school educational performance data based on exams for 2021. As a result, the link here will take you to the most recent performance tables published by the government, which are for 2018/19.
