Options process for KS4

Year 8 Options for Key Stage 4

In the spring term, Year 8 students choose the subjects they wish to study at GCSE or equivalent for the next three years.

In order to support your child through the process of Key Stage 4 options, we have a full programme of events both during the school day for students and after school for parents and students to attend together. Students also receive information via assemblies and Personal Development lessons, and of course, their subject teachers and form tutors are happy to provide support and guidance throughout.

During February, we sent out our options booklet detailing full information about all the subjects on offer and the options process. This has always proved to be a useful point of reference for students and parents. You can find all the relevant information for 2024 below along with the link to the presentation (this is the same presentation that will be shown on the evening) that will be taking place on Wednesday 22 February.

Additionally, the following sections of the school's careers site contains information, advice and guidance to support students and parents through the Year 8 options process:

Miss O'Brien, our Careers Manager, is available to support as follows:

  • Careers drop-ins: Wednesday lunchtimes and after school in the Careers Office
