Sixth Form Manager Pastoral

NJC Grade 8 (Points 20-24) currently £26,446-£29,174 FTE.
(£8,148-£8,989 actual pro rata salary)

We require a confident individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work within the pastoral team to oversee the support, guidance and well-being of students in our high achieving Sixth Form. Working as part of our Sixth Form Team, you will have a central role in supporting our Sixth form students, leading our pursuit of high standards in all we do. Liaising with staff, students, parents and external agencies will be a key part of this role. We can offer you the chance to work in a supportive, fast moving and exciting school community in a role that will be challenging, varied and rewarding. You will join a team comprising this post, the KS5 Director of Learning, a sixth form operational manager, a part time sixth form pastoral manager, learning mentors and a sixth form administrator.

The Weald is an outstanding, high achieving, popular and oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school, situated in the heart of the West Sussex countryside, 10 minutes from Horsham, 35 minutes from Guildford and Brighton, and an hour by train to London.  The school has an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement and we pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every child is important. The school was judged to be ‘Outstanding in all areas’ by Ofsted. The Sixth Form has 300 students and is consistently one of the highest achieving sixth forms nationally.

Hours: 8.30am - 12.30pm Monday to Wednesday.  Although this post is mostly term time only the post holder will be paid for 49.4 weeks per year to include holiday pay. The increased hours per year will reflect additional hours that are required flexibly during term time and occasionally in school holidays e.g. exam results days.
