Classrooms for Kenya

Here at The Weald, we are very proud of Classrooms for Kenya. The charity has been responsible for transforming the lives of our students and students in Kenya for the past 13 years. Staff and students at the Weald, with the support of parents and the local community, are responsible for the building of nearly 100 classrooms in rural Kenya. We hope to reach the 100 mark next year, thanks in part to the support we now have from Christ's Hospital School, who have also adopted the Classrooms for Kenya programme.

Our aim is simply to provide permanent, safe classrooms for Kenyan children.

But there is value for our students too which must not be underestimated. They behave selflessly in their fundraising and gain a wealth of new skills and experiences in the attempt to support their Kenya counterparts. Hundreds of students from the Weald have visited Kenya to help with the building, and thousands more have supported the charity's work through fundraising. Our annual sponsored walk aims to raise £20,000 each year towards the building of new classrooms, and we are humbled by the response from our students every year.
